Wrist arthritis can be degenerative (osteoarthritis) or inflammatory (rheumatoid, psoriatic). Degenerative arthritis of the wrist most commonly follows predictable patterns: SLAC (scapholunate advanced collapse) and SNAC (scaphoid nonunion advanced collapse). The first carpometacarpal (CMC) joint is also a common site for primary osteoarthritis. Imaging evaluates joint spaces, erosions, osteophytes, and carpal alignment.
